Sofia Ganilha

Analyst at the Cleaner Energy group of EDP Innovation responsible for identifying long-term opportunities with the potential to disrupt the energy sector towards a more sustainable energy system. Sofia has been in EDP doing research and materializing multidisciplinary topics, such as desalination, predictive maintenance, and new energy carriers, in which hydrogen assumed the lead. She graduated from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon in 2017, with a master’s degree in Energy and Environment Engineering. Eager of knowledge, she has data science training and attended the Hydrogen Academy in Brussels. Her interests include data analytics and modeling of renewable energy systems.

Green Hydrogen is a missing piece to support the decarbonisation commitment. It makes it possible to strengthen the resilience of today's Power Systems by empowering renewables integration and tackling the decarbonization of hard-to-abate sectors.
