Marcella Franchi joined Haffner Energy in 2021, a French company with a 30-year-old proven expertise in biomass-to-energy technology, and over 40 plants delivered to date. Marcella was a key player in the success of Haffner Energy’s IPO in February 2022. She was appointed SVP North America in May 2023 as the company’s international ambitions expanded due to the urgency of finding viable solutions for the energy transition. Haffner Energy is entering the USA market with its patented technologies in line with the IRA and Clean Hydrogen Strategy and Roadmap guidance, focusing on SAF and renewable hydrogen production from sustainable biomass and organic waste.

Marcella began her career in financial engineering at Warren & Selbert (now Accufy Inc) in London, where she stayed for 17 years. She became a successful entrepreneur, founding and running companies in real estate and rentals in the UK and Portugal. Marcella has a degree from the London School of Economics and a postgraduate qualification in Corporate Finance from the London Business School. She has lectured and consulted at university in Hong Kong and Lisbon. She is on the board of the London Business School Energy Club and involved with Women in Green Hydrogen.
