Elise has worked in hydrogen for over 20 years, spanning operations leadership, project management, and fuel cell stack engineering.
Hydrogen is key to meeting BC’s rising energy demand, alongside clean electricity. We must also commit to supporting women in our sector to overcome persistent barriers.
Elise Woolliams is Operations Manager at Unilia, overseeing the company’s core business functions and ensuring operational excellence across the organization. In addition to her leadership role, she contributes directly to project management and mechanical engineering for fuel cell stack development, drawing on her technical expertise in the hydrogen sector.
With over 20 years of experience in hydrogen and clean energy, Elise has held engineering and project management roles at Automotive Fuel Cell Co-operation (AFCC, a joint venture between Daimler and Ford) and Ballard Power Systems, working on fuel cell stack and system development programs where she developed freeze start operational strategies and designed and released fuel cell stack components. A certified Project Management Professional (PMP), she has led multidisciplinary teams and complex technology projects from design through commercialization.
Elise is a current Board member of Hydrogen BC, where she supports industry collaboration and advocacy to accelerate the hydrogen economy in British Columbia.
