I am working at the Fraunhofer IEG in Cottbus, Germany. My team is developing open-source software for infrastructur planning which is connected with open energy data. Transforming and planning hydrogen, gasnetworks , but also heat and power grids are part of my research interest is to make the Energiewende a success story and share our knowledge with the rest of the world.

For a long time Networks are used by men to be successful. We can do it better!

Since 2005 I have a PHD in physics. After some years in Australia and several universities in Germany I decided to focus my work on energy technology. Since 2011 I am working at the Fraunhofer Institut (IEE) in Kassel, being part of the leading science Instiutions of applied science. I worked on integration of renewables into the power grid using storage technologies. A few years ago I stared a software package called pandapipes, being the "little sister" of pandapower, an open-source framework for grid modelling for gas, hydrogen, power ant heat grids. During the last month my focus shifted to the transformation process of natural gas to hydrogen grids. Also developing control algorithms for eletrolysizers to study the grid integration into the power, hydrogen and gas grid. Since July 2022 I am working at the new Fraunhofer institution in the same fields of interests.
