Dr. Sukriti Sharma

Sukriti is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at DTU Denmark, where she works on biomass conversion pathways and hydrogen energy infrastructure. Her research bridges kinetic process modeling (biomass pyrolysis and thermo-catalytic reforming) with techno-economic and systems-level analysis of hydrogen production, transport, and deployment.

Her PhD in Chemical Engineering from IIT Ropar focused on hydrogen transport infrastructure examining pipeline economics, delivery architectures, and levelized cost analysis with a specific lens on India's energy transition.

Hydrogen infrastructure is fundamentally a systems challenge, it requires integrating feedstock availability, production routes, storage, transport, and end-use applications across regions and time horizons. Women bring crucial perspective to this work: we ask different questions about feasibility, local context, and long-term viability. This systems-level thinking, grounded in technical rigor, is what moves hydrogen from promising technology to deployed infrastructure.

Dr. Sukriti Sharma is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at DTU Denmark, working within the Bio Conversions group. She completed her PhD in Chemical Engineering at IIT Ropar, where she developed techno-economic frameworks for hydrogen transport, delivery, and production infrastructure with a strategic focus on India's energy transition. Her doctoral research examined pipeline economics, CAPEX-OPEX trade-offs, and levelized cost analysis establishing the foundation for understanding how hydrogen systems can be deployed cost-effectively in emerging economies.

At DTU, her research integrates biomass conversion pathways with hydrogen systems engineering. Her current work explores coupling advanced process modeling with machine learning for adaptive hydrogen and chemical production routes.

Through IGSTC (Indo-German Science and Technology Centre) and Fraunhofer Institute collaborations, she bridges Indo-German research networks to strengthen hydrogen infrastructure frameworks and decarbonization pathways for South and Southeast Asia. Her perspective is distinctly rooted in local context: she brings rigorous systems thinking to hydrogen deployment challenges in regions with unique feedstock availability, transport constraints, and energy transition priorities.

Her work addresses a critical gap: translating hydrogen technology from lab to deployed infrastructure in emerging economies, where feasibility and cost structures differ fundamentally from developed markets.
