Dr. Cecilia Wallmark has worked with energy system analyses and hydrogen systems for over 20 years, always with the target to contribute to a sustainable energy- and transport system.
Even for me, with over 20 years in the hydrogen area, the Women in Green Hydrogen released the knowledge on that we are so many active women in the area, and continue to show that the number is steadily increasing. Women are more seldom shown from their companies. That's way this type of network is so valuable.
Dr. Cecilia Wallmark has been active in the fuel cell and hydrogen area since 1999. Today she is seen as a central person within hydrogen in Sweden. Her experiences include research, industrial management, and stakeholder processes. Dr. Cecilia Wallmark is since March 2022 Director of the hydrogen initiative Centre for Hydrogen Energy Systems, Sweden (CH2ESS) at Luleå University of Technology. CH2ESS is a research and knowledge initiative with a focus on hydrogen use in industrial processes and energy systems, in close collaboration with Swedish industry and global stakeholders. CH2ESS provides education, excellent demand-driven research and accelerates the implementation of hydrogen in the society. In her previous position, as Section Manager for Sweco Energy Strategies, Cecilia initiated and developed the Sweco international hydrogen network involving 10 countries and 150 experts in different disciplines, and performed approx. 60 hydrogen related projects as a consultant. Among these projects included to support the Swedish Energy Agency in preparation of the suggested national strategy for hydrogen, 2021, and to prepare the first European Synthesized Infrastructure Plan on Hydrogen for Transport, 2015. Dr. Wallmark started within the hydrogen area as a PhD student at KTH, and has been Managing Director for Opcon Autorotor, supplying customized components for fuel cell vehicles on a global market, and Chair of the board at Hydrogen Sweden.
Cecilia Wallmark is often given speeches and moderating conferences within the hydrogen area, e.g in the Swedish Politicians week, Almedalen, and in September 2022 at a Clean Energy Ministerial side event to discuss cooperation within hydrogen, etc. In January 2023, Cecilia Wallmark moderated the Both2nia event Building the Nordic Hydrogen Economy in Luleå with 150 participants from around the Bothnian Bay. Engagement, co-operation, knowledge sharing and moving forward are typical results of Dr. Wallmarks management.
