Dr Winnie Thebuho is a Researcher who has worked as a Consultant on Energy and Climate finance projects. She is also a part-time Lecturer at both the University of Namibia (UNAM) and Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) in the financial services discipline. Dr Thebuho holds a PhD in Development Finance from the University of Stellenbosch Business School.

Her thesis explored financial globalisation, energy consumption, and environmental sustainability. She is particularly interested in sustainable development, climate finance, energy finance and climate change adaptation.

Dr Thebuho’s recent work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals. She is also a recipient of the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) scholarship, which is a German Academic Exchange Service in cooperation with Stellenbosch University In-Region scholarships.

Her current projects investigate the effect of renewable energy consumption on income inequality in Namibia and Energy transition, economic diversification and sustainability, which are all the broader impacts of Namibia’s National Development Plan (NDP6) and Green Industrial Revolution theme.
