Veronica Ngunzi is a renewable energy expert and academic specializing in sustainable energy systems, with a focus on green hydrogen, power-to-X technologies, and industrial decarbonization. She holds dual PhDs in Renewable Energy Technology and Agricultural Processing Engineering and serves as a Tutorial Fellow at Kenyatta University. Veronica has led and mentored initiatives in clean cooking, gender empowerment, and energy access, and recently participated in the GIZ-supported PtX Train-the-Trainer program in Germany. Her work bridges research, teaching, and applied projects in hydrogen integration, energy efficiency, and clean energy innovation across East Africa.
The Women in Green Hydrogen network is important because it amplifies women’s voices in a rapidly evolving sector, fosters inclusive innovation, and ensures diverse leadership in shaping a just and sustainable hydrogen future—especially for underrepresented regions like Africa.
