Shuyi Li is a Manager of RMI (previously known as Rocky Mountain Institute), where she leads the work to support decarbonizing China’s heavy industry, covering steel, cement, petrochemicals and chemicals, with recognized insights on solutions including green hydrogen, from its production, transportation, storage to end-use. The flagship report she co-authored in 2019, “China 2050: A Fully Developed Rich Zero-Carbon Economy”, was one of the first to set out the vision of a zero-carbon China way before the country’s official announcement of “carbon neutrality” goal. From there, Shuyi performs in-depth analysis on sectoral decarbonization roadmaps, and closely engages with multi stakeholders including governments, industry players, investors etc. to drive ongoing impact. She has been actively supporting the build-up of green hydrogen ecosystem in China by delivering forward-looking insights, promoting pilots and accelerating scale-ups.
