Sarashi Mahanta is an Environmental Specialist at Environmental Management Centre LLP (EMC), working in the Climate and Carbon Advisory vertical. She has experience in carbon market project development, GHG accounting, climate policy alignment, and life cycle assessment.

Sarashi has worked on carbon market projects under leading international standards including CDM, Verra (VCS), Gold Standard, C-Sink, GCC, and I-REC mechanisms. She supports end-to-end carbon project development processes, including methodology identification, additionality assessment (financial, technological, and regulatory), baseline determination, emission quantification, monitoring framework design, and registry compliance requirements. She has practical experience in validation and verification processes and credit issuance procedures.

Her technical expertise includes GHG emission quantification and accounting for renewable energy, biochar, BESS, green hydrogen, and CCUS projects. She is skilled in calculating baseline, project, and leakage emissions using approved methodologies, emission factors, and conservative assumptions aligned with international standards.

Sarashi is actively involved in Article 6.4–aligned project structuring and eligibility assessment under the Paris Agreement framework. She tracks evolving UNFCCC guidance and supports readiness assessment for emerging carbon market mechanisms.

She has also conducted Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) modelling for feedstock sourcing and commercial products, evaluating cradle-to-gate and cradle-to-grave emissions to support climate impact assessments and carbon credit documentation.
