Runjhun Dutta is a clean-energy specialist, dedicated to building domestic manufacturing bases for green hydrogen and advanced energy storage. Over the years, her career has evolved from fundamental bench-level electrochemistry research to driving commercial scaling, industrial technology localization, and strategic energy policy inputs.
Currently, Runjhun leads the strategic execution of next-generation membrane-less electrolyzer systems, focusing on scaling ETAC technology from a lab prototype to 1 MW to unlock ultra-low-cost, large-scale green hydrogen production. Her robust industry background includes, directed advanced dry-coating electrode processes for the country's first domestic gigafactory cylindrical battery program (Bharat Cell), and conducting government-funded solar-driven hydrogen research as a Junior Research Fellow.
Throughout her work, Runjhun has successfully engineered a hydrogen production system achieving a material energy efficiency of ~42 kWh/kg and produced investment-grade assessments that boosted commercial feasibility projections by 25%. Recognized for her leadership, she has co-authored national battery standardization papers alongside the CSIR-National Physical Laboratory and is an elected Associate of the Young Academy of India. She actively champions clean-tech manufacturing frameworks that are highly adaptable for emerging markets globally to achieve localization and energy independence.
