This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the remarkable contributions of women in the green hydrogen sector—pioneers, innovators, and leaders driving the transition to a sustainable energy future. Their expertise and resilience have been instrumental in shaping policies, advancing technologies, and championing green hydrogen as a key solution to decarbonisation. From research labs to large-scale projects, women are making a difference at every stage of the hydrogen value chain, proving that diversity and inclusion drive progress in the energy transition.
While tremendous progress has been made, challenges remain in achieving full gender equality in the industry. Women continue to face barriers in leadership, funding and access to technical roles, but their determination is impressive and they continue to push the boundaries that still exist. Especially in these challenging times, when the need for inclusion and diversity is being called into question, we need to stand stronger together. Networks, mentoring programmes and policy initiatives are creating more opportunities and ensuring that the green hydrogen sector benefits from diverse perspectives. As the industry grows, so must the commitment to empowering women, breaking down stereotypes and creating pathways for the next generation of hydrogen leaders.
Today, let’s recognise, support, and amplify the voices of women in green hydrogen—because a just and sustainable energy future depends on their inclusion, their expertise, their leadership and their vision.
We are proud to present this video in partnership with dmg events / Global African Hydrogen Summit, featuring members of Women in Green Hydrogen sharing inspiring words, their experiences and advice for women in green hydrogen. Watch, share, and let’s accelerate action together!
