Natasha van Rooyen

Consulting in the Space Industry as a Sector Analyst.

Current research: Space sustainability efforts in South Korea and Scotland; and renewable energy targets in South Africa.

My Analyst expertise covers sector-level infrastructure, business ecosystems, education frameworks, value chain operations and quality management systems.

Sustainability is not a new practice - families and communities (more especially, women) have been striving to maintain simple, healthy, dignified living for centuries. Modern living, in its pursuit of convenience, has made this journey increasingly difficult. This pursuit of 'critical mass convenience' has contributed instead to a complicated consumer-capitalist structure and mentality globally - where an individual's legacy voice carries little value, and where the global village's collective future is at risk.

As a trans-disciplinary researcher and analyst, I solve multi-level, complex scenarios by mapping out a wide range of dynamics: systems, elements, activities, and role players. My purpose is to ultimately help people realise emerging, new possibilities in the work they’re doing.

I specialise in collective leadership principles around indigenous/legacy knowledge, constant improvement, innovation and sustainability. A key part of my efforts involves building trusted and credible relationships with critical stakeholders across divisions and programs – leading best practice and consistency.

My professional studies cover a range of fields:

industrial psych, quality and safety management, tech/entrepreneurial innovation and early growth companies; information and systems theory; further and higher education management; analysis, standards and process engineering; Space studies, sustainability development and compliance parameters.

I hold practical experience in many sectors: financial services and banking, further and higher education, policing services, transport, info-/fin-tech, engineering, offshore marine, and mathematical sciences.
