Dr. Mahdieh Safyari is a Scientist at the Austrian Institute of Technology who is working on Hydrogen embrittlement, Corrosion, Hydrogen Trapping & Diffusion experiments, Thermal desorption spectroscopy, High-pressure hydrogen testing, Simulation and modeling of diffusion and trapping, Mechanical Properties, Fatigue and Failure Analysis, High Strength Alloys, Steels, Nickel alloys, Aluminum Alloys, Creep and Cold/Hot Rolling deformation, Solid-State Phase Transformation, Dislocation Characterization, Advanced Characterization techniques based on numerical calculation for quantifying deformation, Environmental Sensitive Fracture, Materials Characterization, Sustainable Materials Science, and microstructure-durability relationships.

She earned a Ph.D. in materials science and Energy from Tohoku University, Japan, in March 2022 at Prof. Akiyama's research laboratory under the support of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and the Japan light metal society.
