Physicist | Energy Transition & Sustainability

It is crucial to increase transparency and connectivity between women in this emerging industry. The Energy Industry and highly technical fields have historically given few great public examples to young women joining the industry, and fighting for exposure has been a uniquely singular battle. An organization like this can not only provide a platform for experts actively working in the space, but offer visible examples and connection to those just joining, and trying to find their own footing.

Lindsey Motlow is a senior research associate at Darcy Partners, leading Hydrogen and firm low carbon power generation research within the Energy Transition and Sustainability coverage verticals. She went to graduate school in Physics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has research experience in large scale nonlinear systems, and in doped transition metal oxide nanocomposites for energy applications via modified sol gel chemical approaches and high throughput AC electrospinning, specifically focusing her later research on photocatalytic evolution of hydrogen. She is passionate about digging deep into system engineering challenges faced within the clean hydrogen, advanced nuclear, and advanced combustion spaces and helping energy operators and investors streamline their project planning and development processes through open communication, use-case specific technical analyses, networking, and equitable community engagement.

  • I speak monthly to an audience of 100+ Oil and Gas, Power Utility, and Private Equity clients on topics throughout the Hydrogen value chain. My most recent series is titled "Hydrogen Engineering Challenges," and throughout this series I am breaking down specific challenges with enabling infrastructure that come with the differences in the molecule in project development. In each event I also highlight landscapes of solutions for these issues as well as entities (companies, research organizations, etc.) working to develop these solutions.
