Johanna Sánchez Quezada

Johanna Sánchez Quezada holds a doctorate from the University of Zaragoza and has a distinguished career focused on energy vectors. She champions female leadership in STEM fields. As president of the Ecuadorian Green Energy Society, she fosters international strategic alliances to accelerate the sustainable energy transition on an industrial scale.

Connecting with WiGH gives me visibility in a sector heavily marked by the gender gap, a field where leadership, particularly in the context of Ecuador, is constrained by a lack of policies enabling hydrogen development and the valorization of biomass. I am firmly convinced that advances in academic research must go hand in hand with clean energy policy proposals; this ensures that the new hydrogen era is inclusive and collaborative, and delivers a much more robust global impact.

Dr. Johanna Patricia Sánchez Quezada

President of the Ecuadorian Green Energy Society

A distinguished Ecuadorian researcher and academic leader, she holds a doctorate from the University of Zaragoza, with extensive expertise in biofuel development, biomass valorization, the circular economy, and green hydrogen.

Deeply committed to the power of international cooperation and equity in science, she has been a member of the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) since 2019. She currently drives applied research and fosters global strategic partnerships to consolidate a just, sustainable energy transition characterized by strong female leadership at an industrial scale.
