Ina Oestroem

PhD researcher developing low-cost catalysts for next-generation fuel cells to produce and transform green hydrogen.

Being part Women in Green Hydrogen Network is a great opportunity to meet the women behind high-end developments in the field of renewable energy.

University of New South Wales / PhD Researcher
/ / Florianópolis and Sydney

Ina received a master degree in Chemistry for the Federal University of Florianopolis (UFSC) in 2017, in Brazil. During her masters, she spent time studying the physical nature of non-covalent interactions in supramolecular frameworks employing Density Functional Theory (DFT).

In 2020 she joined the UNSW Hoex Group as a UNSW Scientia PhD Scholar in the School of Photovoltaics and Solar Energy Engineering at UNSW Sydney. Currently, she is employing ab initio hybrid DFT to rationally design low-cost catalysts for next-generation hydrogen fuel cells, and atomic layer deposition (ALD) to synthesize the materials.
