Friederike Altgelt

German Energy Agency (dena) / Expert, Power-to-X Technologies and Sustainable Mobility

Friederike Altgelt works at the German Energy Agency (dena) as a Senior Expert for International Hydrogen Markets and Energy Policy. In this role, she focuses on the regulatory framework for the use of renewable hydrogen-based energy carriers (also referred to as e-fuels or powerfuels) at national and European level, sustainability criteria for the production of these energy carriers, and requirements for buidign up a global market for hydrogen. She advises the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy on the implementation of the National Hydrogen Strategy and is the Project Lead of the Global Alliance Powerfuels, an initiative launched by dena in 2018 to promote the market development of renewable hydrogen-based energy carriers. Prior to her role at dena, she worked in public affairs consulting.

She holds a BA in International Relations from the Technical University of Dresden and an MSc in Behaviour Change from University College London (UCL).
