Focus: building the hydrogen economy in Scotland and beyond

I want to explore the contribution we can make through sharing our hydrogen expertise and learning from others as we move to a hydrogen economy - building on Scotland's legally-binding target of zero-carbon emissions by 2045, our vast renewable energy resources, and over 10 years of experience in green hydrogen demonstration projects, now moving to scale within a whole system approach.

Scottish Government, Director of Germany Hub
,

I have experience across a broad range of senior policy and operational roles in government and beyond, many of which have focused on energy and enterprise. In 2014 I undertook a Fulbright Fellowship in entrepreneurship in Boston, and then became Business Development Manager and Head of Innovation and New Technologies at a medium-sized marine engineering company. Here I submitted the company’s Horizon 2020 bid to string-test the systems on land for the world’s first seagoing hydrogen ferry. This project is currently underway in Scotland. I returned to government in late 2016 to work at the interface of business, innovation and industry before taking up post as the Scottish Government's senior representative in Germany. Here my key business priority is again hydrogen.
