Claudia Ortiz

H2 Economics Analyst at Hinicio, developing strategic consulting in both the public and private sectors in Latam.

The day when we understand that we are all nature, will be the day when cooperation will win out over the competition, empathy over selfishness, and generosity over greed. It is the day when our actions and efforts will focus on a just and sustainable transition, in which female leadership and hydrogen will play a key role.

Hinicio / Economics Analyst

Claudia is a Mechanical Engineer from the University of Chile, with experience in different fields such as mining, energy, and research. From 2018 to 2019, Claudia gained experience at Aiguasol (an international energy consultancy), where her main responsibilities focused on emissions analysis and implementation of air decontamination plans in district heating projects, as well as energy diagnostics for the development of roadmaps.

Between 2019 to 2020, Claudia faced different challenges as an Operational Excellence Engineer and Change Agent at Codelco’s El Teniente division, the largest subway in the world. She was responsible for implementing and giving sustainability to lean management practices – better known as C+ for being a version adapted to the Chilean culture in different processes of the concentration plant.

In 2021, Claudia supported E2BIZ in modeling data for distributed generation predictions. In her spare time, she volunteered to teach circular economy, renewable energy, and entrepreneurship from a gender perspective to girls aged 10-17. She then started as a trainee pipeline engineer at Fluor Corporation sizing pipes and pumps, developing takeoff material and requisitions until April 2022, when she joined Hinicio as an Analyst in H2 Economics.
