Amy Davis is President — New Power Business at Cummins Inc. In her role, Amy leads the company's fifth and newest business segment, which pioneers and manufactures emerging and cutting-edge alternative power technologies.
Women are playing an important role in transitioning to a hydrogen economy, and yet that isn’t always evident through industry events or in the media. We know that real innovation and good business happen when we have diverse perspectives working together and challenging each other. Showcasing the work women are doing to decarbonize and move our economy and our environment to a more sustainable future is key to attracting the diverse talent required to continue advancing our industry.
When it comes to innovating a more sustainable world, Amy Davis is at the forefront as Vice President and President – New Power at Cummins. In this role, Amy leads the company's fifth and newest business segment, which pioneers and manufactures emerging and cutting-edge alternative power technologies. With a team of more than 800 innovators across four continents, Amy pushes the boundaries of technology, accelerating the possibilities of electrified, fuel cell and hydrogen products in commercial and industrial markets.
Amy joined Cummins in 1994 and has held numerous leadership roles across the company. Prior to her current role, she served as Vice President of the $1.2-billion Filtration business, where she achieved record revenues. Prior to this, Amy served as President of the Cummins Northeast distributor, where she also oversaw significant revenues and profit increases. Other roles include Manager of the European Bus Business, Marketing Communications for the Engine segment, Market Strategy, Planning and Customers Support Excellence in global engine markets, as well as Executive Director of the Medium Duty Truck and Business.
Amy's path to Cummins and leading the company’s zero-emissions portfolio was atypical. She graduated from Northwestern University with a bachelor's degree in English and initially thought she would be a journalist. However, Cummins’ mission captured her heart after she was introduced to the company’s track record of relying on its core values to boldly embrace change and disrupt its industries. In 2004, she completed the Executive Program for Marketing Strategy at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Amidst her days positioning a startup like New Power for success within the walls of a Fortune 150, Amy is also passionate about encouraging and empowering female leaders in the workplace and completed the Women's Director Development Program at Kellogg Executive Education. She and her husband Dan of nearly 30 years have four children and enjoy spending time on the water boating and water skiing, as well as hockey.
