On March 11th, Women in Green Hydrogen hosted its first workshop on “Communication & Public Speaking”, presented exclusively by our partner Reuters Events. In line with WiGH’s core values of “Connect. Empower. Change.”, the interactive session provided insightful advice on how to have more impactful public appearances and make our voices heard.

Download the Tips on speaking at events by Reuters Events here, which Charlotte Howlett, Sector Head & Portfolio Director: Energy Transition, Nuclear Energy and Oil & Gas at Reuters Events shared.

Additionally, the participating Women in Green Hydrogen members shared insightful learnings: To check the physical surroundings before going on stage – if you cannot feel physically comfortable (due to blinding lights, low chairs, …), it will have an adverse effect on your ability to speak confidently. Breathing exercises and posture and positioning checks can help to speak in a controlled and dignified manner.

We further discussed that these tips and learnings not only apply to speaking at huge conferences and events, but also to the challenge of being heard in meetings within their own organisations. This allowed women not only to share more tips on how to overcome these issues, but also allowed them to share and bond over similar issues.

Thank you so much for your active participation in discussing this important aspect of our daily work!
