Sanaa Hichami works currently for Tony Blair Institute for Global Change as a Senior regional investment promotion advisor to Desert to Power program held by the Afdb and USAID among other world-class partners. As part of TBI’s senior advisors programs, Sanaa works on political coordination around the desert to power projects, the finalization and operationalization of national and regional road maps of Sahel countries, supporting Sahel governments in setting more efficient investment and energy policies as well as mobilizing international capital around a diversified project portfolio of large scale 85 investment opportunities in the region, covering solar power generation, off-grid and decentralized solutions, regional large scale grid transmission infrastructures and some pilot projects in hydrogen, mainly in Mauritania.
I strongly beleive that improving representativity of women in speaking panels, is an important lever of acheiving the gender equality and inclusion in the global energy transition.
In addition to their daily and concrete efforts to build a green hydrogen market, women in investment and business development industry in energy transition feilds, have to raise their voice, to promote the importance of their work on disruptive technologies in achieving the energy transition. This is what motivated me to join women in hydrogen panel of experts : to share my very humble knowledge about 3 main feilds: Energy transition, finance and investments.
A just and inclusive global energy transition can not be conceived without women, neither without hydrogen: That is why the mission of "women in hydrogen" is totally meaningful for me. I aim to humbly contribute through it , to raise women's voice and increase their reprensentativity in speaking panels about energy transition, and beyond, by being a part of a group of female leaders of opinion, influencing and convincing public and private decision makers, to take more transformative initiatives in green hydrogen: Innovative policy instruments, financing schemes and facilitating ways of cooperation to bridge the Green hydrogen investment gap.
